Complete tour which will allow you to visit the main cultural sites of Kathmandu. One day of quiet walk will also take you towards one of the nicest points of view on Himalayas, after having flown over it and approached Everest. You will also discover another facet of Nepal: the Terai with a 4-day safari. Finally a short and easy trekking near Pokhara will be unforgettable with nice view on Annapurna range.
D 1 Arrival at Kathmandu, reception at the airport, and transfer at the hotel. D 2 Day in Kathmandu through the lively streets Visit of Durbar Square: ancient temples, the seat of the former royal palace, the residence of Kumari (living goddess). Then visit of Swayambunath (monkey temple): One of the most popular places of Nepal. The stupa dominates the valley of Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu. D 3 We begin the morning with a flight over the Himalayas (45 minutes). Then visit of Patan: Malla ancient capital with numerous temples and remarkable newar architecture. Visit of the museum (one of the most beautiful and interesting in Asia), the market of Lagankel and the Tibetan camp (handicraft) of Jawalakhel. Afternoon in the pretty village of Bungamati, in the countryside. Overnight in Kathmandu. D 4 Full day in Bhaktapur. City of newar preserved and very much alive, classified World Heritage by Unesco. Night in hotel. D 5 Transfer to Banepa. Half-day hike and attival in Dhulikhel. Visit of the city. Night in hotel. D 6 Survey of the sunrise and stunning views of the Himalayas, and then start the day walking to the stupa of Namobuddha and the typical village of Panauti. Return to Kathmandu. D 7 Transfer by tourist bus (6h00) to Chitwan for a safari. Welcome drink and installation in hotel. Discovery by walk in the park. D 8 On the morning, walk in jungle to discover the wildlife (boating for a better approach of birds and crocodiles). After lunch, visit of typical Taru villages. Dinner and folk show. D 9 On the morning, elephant -riding to visit the parc and approach rhinoceros. In option and depending of season : Jeep Safari to go in the middle of the park. D 12 From Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2750 m). D 16 Back to Kathmandu by tourist bus (plane if required). Or 1 more day in Pokhara. D 17 Visit of the stupa of Buddha: One of the largest stupas in the world, surrounded by numerous monasteries and Tibetan shops. Then visit to Pashupatinath, one of the most important places of Hinduism. Ceremonies (cremation) are perpetual. Free afternoon in the capital and overnight in Kathmandu.
