The kingdom of Mustang

For a long time forbidden, now it is approachable. The route, without difficulty, crosses splendid landscapes and profoundly Himalayan: arid desert of the high Tibetan plateau. The fortress of Lo Manthang, its monasteries and troglodyte caves are just like the country: Out of time. We come back by Muktinath. 11 days of camping.

D 1 Arrival at Kathmandu, reception at the airport, and transfer at the hotel.

D 3 From Kathmandu to Pokhara

D 4 From Pokhara to Kagbeni (2800m)
Plane for Jomsom and beginning of the trek for Kagbeni. ~ 4 hours of walk

D 5 From Kagbeni to Chele (3000m)
We cross Kali Gandaki to arrive at Chele. ~ 6 hours of walk

D 6 From Chele to Geling (3500m)
We cross some passes until Chele. ~ 6 hours of walk

D 7 From Geling to Tsarang (3500m)
We go on via Gemi and its very long mani. ~ 7,5 hours of walk

D 8 Of Geling to Lo Mathang (3700m)
The way crosses the arid landscapes towards the capital of Mustang: the fortress of Lo Mathang. ~ 5 hours of walk

D 9 Lo Mathang (3700m)
Rest and visits of numerous monasteries and surroundings.

D 10 Of Lo Mathang in Surkhan
We leave again in inverse sense. ~ 6 hours of walk

D 11 From Surkhan to Tange
We go back towards Tange. ~ 5,5 hours of walk

D 12 From Tange to Tetang
We go back towards Tetang. ~ 5 hours of walk

D 13 From Tange to Muktinath
We join the trail of the circuit of Annapurna and arrive at Muktinath : Centre of pilgrimage. ~ 7 hours of walk

D 14 From Muktinath to Jomsom
Return to Jomsom. ~ 5,5 hours of walk

D 15 From Jomsom to Pokhara
Plane for Pokhara.

D 16 From Pokhara to Kathmandu
Itinerary by bus (plane if required).

D 17 Free Day (visits if required).

D 18 Transfer to the airport of Kathmandu.
